UFD actively supports and promotes work-related road safety
activities through an established Management of Occupational Road
Risk Policy (MORR) |
In recognition of both our legal and moral
obligations for driver safety, United Fleet Distribution actively
seeks to take all reasonable and practical measures to ensure safe
systems of work are provided to all those undertaking driving
duties for the company. It is the company’s policy to provide a
systematic planned approach to road safety through a process of
continuous improvement, and to encourage good driving techniques
with a support mechanism for achievement.
In
order to achieve this objective, United Fleet Distribution has in
place a Managing Occupational Road Risk Policy that provides a
programme of both pro-active and re-active systems and procedures
that aim to monitor, evaluate and raise awareness in the area of
driver suitability, vehicle suitability and route planning.
In practice, this means UFD having a comprehensive assessment
process prior to accepting the services of a driver which includes
regular driving licence checks with the DVLA, carrying out
suitable risk assessments on driver capability and ensuring
legality to drive under UK law. We have RoSPA
trained driving assessors that support the business and we
continue to be committed to the training and awareness of our
drivers by constant review of the policy and carrying out
necessary presentations and re-assessments, particularly
associated with the monitoring and control of work-related driver
incidents. All our driver recruiters and field service supervisors
are members of the RoSPA Advanced Drivers and Riders Association. |
